If you searched for an AI image detector, start here with the limitation: this page reads file metadata. It does not look at pixels, and it cannot see SynthID or tell you whether a picture was generated.
This pass only reads the file. Clean a copy when you want those records removed.
Up to 30 files · 15 MB each · JPG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, HEIC
Drop a photo and the page lists the records it can parse. EXIF can show camera make, model, software, artist, and a body serial. GPS is shown as coordinates when the latitude and longitude tags are present. XMP is scanned for a creator tool and for hints such as trained algorithmic media, C2PA, or a named generator. IPTC captions and credits are listed when a Photoshop block is there. PNG tEXt, zTXt, and iTXt keywords are shown with a short excerpt, which is how Stable Diffusion prompts usually appear.
C2PA is reported when a JPEG APP11 JUMBF segment, a PNG caBX chunk, a WebP JUMBF chunk, or a matching HEIF uuid box is present. The checker does not validate the cryptographic signature and does not display a full manifest tree. It tells you the container is carrying that record.
A file with no metadata can still be synthetic. Chat previews, screenshots, and messengers often throw the records away before you ever see the file. A file full of EXIF can still contain an AI edit that never wrote a credential. Pixel watermarks are invisible to this checker.
Use the report as a pre-upload inventory. When you want those records gone, stay on this page and clean a copy, or open the remover. For Instagram’s wording around AI Info, use the Instagram guide.

If you need the camera record, keep the master. Clean a copy for the upload.
The clean button uses the same remover as the homepage and names what it removed.
Drop the cleaned file back here if you want to see an empty report before you post it.
Search results mix “AI image detector” with “metadata checker”. This page only does the second job. It will not give you a percentage, a heatmap, or a verdict.
No. The file is read in memory in your browser. Closing the tab discards it. See the privacy page.
The metadata was probably stripped by an earlier export, a screenshot, or a messenger. The checker cannot recover records that are no longer in the file, and it cannot see pixel watermarks.
Yes. After the report, use Clean and download. JPG, PNG, and WebP pixels are not recompressed. The same limits apply: 30 files, 15 MB each.
No. It reports that a C2PA or JUMBF container is present. It does not check whether the signature is valid or who issued it.
