AI downloads and design downloads are not the same
Canva has shipped Content Credentials on AI image downloads from Magic Studio. When that credential is in the PNG or JPEG, it is C2PA metadata and it is something this tool can remove. A design that never used an AI image, only your photos and Canva’s shapes and type, does not inherit a Firefly-style credential by virtue of being “made in Canva.”
Canva exports are also easy to confuse with screenshots of the editor. The editor view is not the download. PDF exports are outside this tool. Video and page animations are outside it too. What you can clean is the JPG, PNG, or WebP you actually saved.
Some non-AI Canva files still contain a creator-tool XMP tag or other export notes. Those are not an AI label by themselves, but they are metadata, and the remover deletes them along with GPS if any photo you placed still carried location data into the export. That last part depends on Canva’s export, not on a promise that GPS always survives the editor.
How to clean a Canva image

Download the image, do not screenshot the editor
Use Share or Download and pick a JPG, PNG, or WebP. The flattened file is the one a platform will read.

See if Magic Studio signed it
The checker shows C2PA when a content credential is present, and XMP or PNG text when those exist. An empty AI section means this export has no such block.

Strip the copy you will post
Run the tool on this page. Pixels of JPG, PNG, and WebP stay put. EXIF and GPS go too if they were in the file.

Match the upload to the network
A Pin, an Instagram post, and a Facebook post can all read the same file. The platform guides cover the upload side.
Canva’s in-editor label is not this file
An “AI” badge inside Canva describes the element in the design. It is not automatically a metadata block in the download. If the checker is empty, cleaning will not change how that badge behaved inside Canva, and it will not change a pixel watermark if one was baked into an image you uploaded.

Do all Canva downloads have C2PA?
No. Content Credentials show up on AI image downloads that include them. Ordinary design exports often do not. Check the file.
Does this edit the Canva design itself?
No. It edits a downloaded image on your device. Your Canva project is untouched.
What about a Canva video?
This tool does not open video. Export a still if the still is what you need to clean.
Will my brand colors change?
JPG, PNG, and WebP image data is copied. The color profile is kept when the file has one.
